FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I APPLY?
Our recruitment process involves an application and one round of interviews. More information will be given at our recruitment events leading up to the application deadline. All undergraduate students, from any school, are invited to apply!
WHAT TIMELINE DO PROJECTS OPERATE ON?
ECO has two project cycles each year. Projects typically begin in late September during the Fall semester, in late February during the Winter semester, and then our Client Acquisitions process begins in May during the summer. Project engagements typically last 8-12 weeks, depending on each project's unique requirements.
HOW ARE PROJECT TEAMS STRUCTURED?
Project teams consist of 1 project manager, 3-5 business analysts, and 1 senior project advisor. Project managers communicate with clients as frequently as is productive. Each project has a 2 deliverables presentations with the whole ECO team and the client. First is the midpoint presentation, where clients see the progress of the project thus far and share any adjustments or questions they'd like to see considered moving forward. Second is the final deliverable, which presents our final conclusions and recommendations.
FAQs
Our Application Advice
1. Community, Community, Community
More than anything else, we're looking for people who genuinely want to contribute to ECO's community. We'll provide you with any experience, expertise, and knowledge you need for environmental consulting, but we need you to be all in and contribute to a positive, hard-working, and fun club culture and be an excellent teammate. Even more important? Follow through on your promises if you're accepted.

2. Get Creative With It
Consulting requires out-of-the-box problem solvers, and we want to see that in your application. Whether you display that in your case question or even in your resume, we're looking for people who can think of nontraditional solutions.

3. Think Through the Case Questions
When confronted with the questions at the end of the form, it's tempting to just write the first thing that comes to mind and hit "submit" after all the hard work you've already put in. However, for the case question, ideal applicants have a logical structure and clear through line, and the best way to achieve that is to think it through (even outline an answer) before writing it down. Just take a few minutes before you start typing!

4. Make Every Word Count
For most of the questions, you only have 150 words for sometimes-complex answers. Make sure to edit out evidence that doesn't connect to your original idea and turns of phrase that could be shortened while still having the same effect, and more extemporaneous writing.

5. Be Yourself!
We know, we know. It sounds stupid. But we're looking for an authentic future group of ECO members who are diverse and unique. It's way more enjoyable to read an application someone clearly was passionate about writing it than someone who was trying to just fit what they think we want.
